¿Y tú de quién eres...?
Village wine from mix plots
in danger of extinction.

Following the mission of our winery, this beloved multi-varietal blend comes from the reclamation of mixed field blends that contain local grape varieties on the verge of disappearing entirely. The function of parcels of this nature was to guarantee a supply of wine for home consumption, since each individual grape DNA has a different reaction to natural infestations, viruses, and frost.

Due to dynamics in the current economic system, the farmer needs to produce many kilos of fruit before his vineyard can even get close to being profitable. In older vineyards the production yields per plant are simply not enough to cover the imbedded costs.

Taking into account as well that the wine market is moving toward single varietals, these old parcels have become economically unsustainable no matter what the farmer does. However, to be able to save any grape varietal it is necessary to have a certain number of physical plants from which to source cuttings for the grafting process.

This wine was conceived thanks to the contributions of all our Gratias patrons and friends, who have believed in our project and supported us.

Here in Spain we can all remember our grandparents asking the young people they did not know: “and you, who are you from?” This way they understood you better by knowing the family you belonged to. ¿Y tú de quién eres...? is a wine like that: a wine from an area and a town, with the usual people, and with many types of grapes.

Red Varietal-Blend Wine crafted with minimal intervention using traditional artisanal techniques. Beginning with a manual harvest directly thrown, without destemming, in small containers taken to the vineyardsin, fermentation is then carried out for short time with the skins and mostly with presence of whole cluster.

After a period of aging on its lees in barrels, tinajas and stainless steel, the wine is bottled. Because this wine is vinified without fining or cold stabilization, natural sediments may appear in the bottle or glass.

¿Y tú de quién eres? can be enjoyed by all kinds of wine consumers, including vegans and vegetarians.
